Lorig wins twice in Olympic archery

BEIJING--Khatuna Lorig, who competed for the Republic of Georgia in two Olympics but now lives in West Hollywood, advanced to the quarterfinals Tuesday in women’s archery, upsetting No. 7 seed Alison Williamson of Great Britain, 112-109, in the second round. Williamson is a five-time Olympian and finished third in Athens four years ago.

Lorig won in the first round, 107-105, over Virginie Arnold of France.

The next test for Lorig will be on Thursday against No. 10 Ana Maria Rendon of Colombia. Lorig is the No. 26 seed.
