Bryan Clay wins decathlon gold

Bryan Clay makes an attempt in the javelin of the men's decathlon on Friday during the  Beijing Games on Friday.

BEIJING -- Bryan Clay became the 12th U.S. gold medalist in the decathlon and first since Dan O'Brien in 1996.

Azuza Pacific's Clay led after each of the 10 events and wound up 240 points ahead of Andrei Krauchanka of Belarus.

Clay had won the silver medal in 2004.
