David Boudia competes at the men's 10-meter platform diving final at the Beijing Games on Saturday.

David Boudia of the United States finished 10th with 441.45 points in the men’s platform diving finals on Saturday night at the Beijing Games. Teammate Thomas Finchum was 12th at 412.65.

Australia’s Matthew Mitcham overtook China’s Zhou Luxin for the gold, blocking China's bid to sweep the diving competition's eight golds. Mitcham finished with 537.95 points. Zhou earned silver at 533.15 and Russia’s Gleb Galperin  took the bronze with 525.80.

“I’m a little disappointed, but I’ve worked way too hard for too long to let it get me down,” Finchum told USA Diving. “I told myself not to let that first dive get to me, and I did enjoy [the competition] even though I didn’t dive my best.”

I hope NBC has a good explanation for why the totally excluded coverage of the Latino divers who were in medal contention for the 10m platform diving (synch and indiv). Colombia, Cuba, and Mexico all had divers in the running who were never shown as if they didn't exist, while Brits an dAmericans who finishied in 10th and 12th were shown incessantly. It 's hard not to conclude this was blatant racism by NBC!!
