August 9, 2008 |  3:42 am

BEIJING -- Archer Brady Ellison, who stayed at the Olympics Training Center in Chula Vista to prepare for the Beijing Games, shot a score of 664 Saturday to place 15th and lead the U.S. contingent in men's archery competition in Beijing.

Butch Johnson of Woodstock, Conn., shot a 653, good for 40th place, just one point ahead of teammate Vic Wunderle of Mason City, Ill. All three advance to the elimination round on Wednesday.

In the team competition, the men placed 10th out of 12 teams and will vie for team honors, with competition scheduled for Monday morning.
