The four beach volleyball teams that will represent the U.S. in Beijing are in action this weekend at an AVP event in Chicago. The two men's teams are scheduled to face each other Saturday afternoon in the tournament quarterfinals.

Phil Dalhausser of Santa Barbara and Todd Rogers of Solvang swept their first two matches and won a third match in three games, setting up a match against Jake Gibb of Costa Mesa and and Sean Rosenthal of Manhattan Beach at 6 a.m. Pacific time, a slightly more humane 8 a.m. in Chicago.

On the women's side, top-seeded Misty May-Treanor, a Costa Mesa native, and Kerri Walsh of Hermosa Beach swept their matches, as did the other Beijing-bound duo, Elaine Youngs -- an El Toro native who now lives in Durango, Colo. -- and Nicole Branagh, who lives in Torrance.

May-Treanor is approaching a milestone: If she and Walsh win Sunday's women's final, May-Treanor will  have 100 career tournament victories (AVP and international). She would be only the fifth player and first woman to reach that number.
