Randy Harvey, who has been with The Times since 1978, became only the sixth sports editor of the Los Angeles Times when named to succeed Bill Dwyre in 2006 and has since been named Associate Editor. In one of his previous lives, Harvey covered the Olympics beat for The Times. If he’s lucky, he will return to that role in his next life. He will be covering his 16th Olympics next winter in Vancouver.
