Officer shot, potential second victim on Virginia Tech campus

A police officer was shot Thursday on the campus of Virginia Tech, the university reported.

The university said that a potential second victim is reported in a parking lot on campus.

The suspect remains at large, the university said.

The campus was placed on lockdown at 12:47 p.m. EST after  a report of shots fired and advised students to stay indoors.

The alert described the possible shooter as a white male, wearing gray sweat pants, a gray hat with a neon green brim, a maroon hoodie and backpack.
