Halloween vandal: Driver tears into New Mexico pumpkin patches
The Great Pumpkin certainly would not approve of this.
Not to besiege you with pre-Halloween pumpkin stories (a journalistic bad habit detailed in an earlier post), but authorities say a trespasser has been doing some damage around the pumpkin patches of Curry County, N.M.
It’s probably not Snoopy.
In the first incident, a driver ripped through the fence last week at Davis Farms in Clovis, a city near the Texas border, the Associated Press reported. The corn maze and pumpkin patch were damaged, though the AP did not specify whether it was the Sea of Pumpkins or Pumpkin Mountain that was harmed.
Two nights later, a driver roared through Bernard Farms, bringing total pumpkin-related damages to $4,500, the AP said. The culprit also sped off with a replica dairy cow.
Authorities clearly don't think these were cases of bad driving: They're asking the public to contact the local Crime Stoppers if they have any information about the one or more pumpkin patch vandals
