If you're vaguely versed in hip-hop history, it's readily apparent that Prince Paul is one of the genre's most gifted producers. Besides being the man behind the boards of De La Soul's "3 Feet High & Rising," Handsome Boy Modeling School and Stetsasonic, he practically invented the hip-hop skit. His album "A Prince Among Thieves" ranks among the most conceptually ambitious hip-hop records ever made.

So it goes without saying that Paul would put something interesting together for Scion, who paid to fly him all over the country to check out cool parties and scenes. "Prince Paul's Adventurous Musical Journey" finds him peeping garage rock with Best Coast, digging metal in Pomona and checking out bounce music in New Orleans.

The latest pair of webisodes find him heading to the Coachella Valley during Coachella Festival weekend to see what exactly goes down. Premiering today on Pop & Hiss, the eight-minute-long segments reveal Paul's discussions with some of the most prominent figures in the L.A. party scene: the guys from A Club Called Rhonda, Chris Haycock of the Do-Over, and Banana Split, best known for throwing parties at LAX with DJ AM and Steve Aoki.
