Loretta Lynn recuperating after hospitalization for pneumonia
Country queen Loretta Lynn is back home in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., after being hospitalized briefly to treat the beginning stages of bacterial pneumonia.
“Around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Loretta awoke on her tour bus complaining that she was having a hard time breathing,” according to a statement released Monday by the 76-year-old singer’s office.
The "Coal Miner's Daughter" was taken to the emergency room at a hospital in Bowling Green, Ky., diagnosed with pneumonia, treated and released.
“It was one scary night,” Lynn said in the same statement. “But I am feeling better and just gonna take it easy for a couple of weeks.”
She is expected to make her next scheduled appearance on Nov. 3 in Knoxville, Tenn. Earlier this year, she had to skip a booking at the Stagecoach Country Music Festival in Indio after undergoing knee surgery.
