Madonna has confirmed rumors that she is at work on her next album.

While promoting her directorial film effort, ‘W.E.,’ at the Venice Film Festival, the pop diva announced that she’d ‘started a little bit of work in the studio’ on her as-yet-untitled 12th album, with the first single pegged for a February or March release.

It has been speculated that Madonna would re-team with William Orbit, who co-produced and co-wrote the majority of her hit 1998 album, ‘Ray of Light.’ In an interview with Sweden’s Sveriges Television, she didn’t exactly shoot down the collaboration rumor, only saying that fans should expect ‘more good music.’

The disc will be her first since splitting from longtime home Warner Bros. Records and inking a 360-deal with music conglomerate Live Nation.

Her last album, 2008’s ‘Hard Candy,’ debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
