What Pinot Noir pairs best with experimental folk rock? Get that pressing question answered July 15 when L.A.-based singer-songwriter Devendra Banhart  plays an exceedingly underplayed engagement in the cellar at Atwater Village's 55 Degree wine shop.

Banhart's been fairly quiet since his 2009 major label debut, "What Will We Be," and hopefully will have some new tunes to debut amid the racks of vino. He'll follow it up with a set July 21 at the Bootleg Theater, but as fervent fans of weirdo folk and floor-to-ceiling crates of alcohol, we think the former should be extra enticing. Tickets for both ($35 and $25, respectively) go on sale at 11 a.m. Friday.
