Lupe Fiasco calls President Obama a terrorist

Lupe_pic Lupe Fiasco has never bitten his tongue about his disdain for modern politics, and his latest single “Words I Never Said,” offers a few of his thoughts on the subject.

“Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist, Gaza Strip was getting burned, Obama didn’t say …/
That’s why I ain’t vote for him, next one either,” he raps on the controversial track from his latest album, “Lasers.”

The rapper has opened himself up to even more scrutiny after appearing on CBS News’ “What’s Trending.” In the interview, which aired Tuesday night (you can watch it here), he revealed more about his frustrations with the administration, calling President Obama the biggest terrorist in the country.

“In my fight against terrorism, to me, the biggest terrorist is Obama in the United States of America. For me, I’m trying to fight the terrorism that’s actually causing the other forms of terrorism. The root cause of the terrorism is the stuff that you as a government allow to happen and the foreign policies that we have in place in different countries that inspire people to become terrorists. And it’s easy for us because it’s really just some oil, which we can really get on our own.”

When asked by the show's host, Shira Lazar, if, as the lyrics suggested, he doesn't vote, Fiasco responded in the affirmative.

I don’t get involved in the political process because it’s meaningless, to be honest. First of all I’m a real big believer if I’m gonna vouch for someone, then I’m gonna stand behind everything that they do. That’s just how I am as a human being. So politicians aren’t gonna do that because I don’t want you to bomb some village in the middle of nowhere.”

He took it even further, though, wondering what would happen if no one voted. His suggestion? “Let’s try it out.”

Of course, Fiasco’s sentiments echo Kanye West’s outburst against President Bush, which became late-night fodder for weeks.

Fiasco was a trending topic on Twitter Wednesday and people appear divided by his statements. Some are praising him for speaking out for his own personal beliefs, while others have written off his comments as “stupid” or “moronic.” But we want to hear from readers. Will Fiasco’s words prove troublesome for him?

Words I Never Said
word Lupe Fiasco word
Words I Never Said

We the terrorized Citizens under ObamaScare stand united with LUPE.

Love his honesty! My only concern is the powers that be shut him up, or The black community doesn't support him. Our community needs more conscience artist.

"Chickens coming home to roost never made me sad, in fact it only made me glad."

He's just being silly. This sounds like the hot air of a youngster who has never been truly tested, but has received enough adulation to believe he knows what he's talking about. He seems only to be able to speak in general terms of what governments do and how they work, internally and externally. He should learn a little about the law of unintended consequences before he shoots off his mouth.

You people are kidding right? Why is it open season on Obama, but Bush damn near let millions of people die, in this country, (any body remember Katrina?) and the only person to call a white man a racists was Kanye West; and you people tried to crucify the man. But Bush, his father and his bestie (Regan) were the biggest terrorists in the world. President Obama has a better record of achievement than the Bush and Clinton Admin combined-a documented FACT!!! And still you trolls are just following the negative hype that the racists tea baggers are putting out there. I know it is hard to figure out who is a racist and who is not; let me give you a hint-the white hood means racist!
And I am further appalled that a young African American (who obviously has some self hatred issues) could sit there and talk about not voting; after millions of his ancestors died, not only so his sorry behind could vote, but also so that he could even be considered relevant enough to do this interview....He is not smart; he is just another sad person with no beliefs and low self esteem...

This guy is stupid! Pres. Obama can't win if not this racist political rep. It so called uneducated rappers. Real conscious rappers make us think not what to think. We hv to do the reach b4 jumping on sm random rappers soap box . He not the first to be conscious but he is the worst

1) The backlash will be heavy. But he should know that and welcome it as his nemesis.

2) Though, I would disagree about Obama being a "terrorist". Figureheads are too insignificant to deserve that label.

3) I contend that the more he'd understand the world of politics, the more reasons he'll have to not vote. What would happen if we all didn't vote? I'd wager that it would be nothing. Our masters don't value us that highly.

Never listened to his music much but after hearing this and the lyrics to words I never said I will be supporting him and purchasing this album

Lupe said that America's foreign policies create Terrorist, and so since Obama is America's Leader in this way he is A "Terrorist" or "Terrorist Creator". I personally feel that it is so great to live in a country like this where everybody is FREE to have their own opinions and I also wonder why when white racist people where calling Obama the devil and everything else derogatory no one seemed to care during the last election? He even had to produce his birth certificate to prove his citizenship not even 2 months ago, but because Lupe has an opinion and a brain to think on his own and isn't somewhere selling crack and being a typical black male stereotype then now everyone has a problem with him. I say that White America has been waiting for a chance to pounce on Lupe because he is a free thinker and we all know what happens to freethinkers trying to shake things up in America the FREE the beautiful you end up Locked up or Six feet under. It's about time somebody had the BALLS to tell the truth. GOD IS HAPPY!!!!! And when GOD is who you serve you could care less what others think!! GO LUPE !!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!

His statements just show his ignorance.

How does it feel to have a lunatic rapper insult YOUR president, liberals?

That said, this guy and Kanye West are equally idiotic.

stop bringing your lyrics into the political stage of reality. your poetry is for the hip-hop songs you create, not for the public philosophical discourse in which you are attempting to enter. bizarre.

Really? "Obama is the BIGGEST TERRORIST in the country"??? Really, Lupe? Really? Does Lupe fully understand what it means to be a terrorist?... that is, to intentionally and methodically invoke TERROR in his/her chosen victims? I don't think he does. And his comments to that effect were irresponsible.

His sentiments are understood...but calling Obama a terrorist was WAY out of line and misguided.

I don't know if Lupe's words will be troublesome for him. But I don't think he's concerned about that, since he took a leap of courage by going public with his strong convictions regarding BO.

Good for Lupe! He isn't intimidated or fearful of the Hollywood establishment or the Soros machine. Let's hope that many others in the entertainment business and other highly visible sectors stick to their convictions, and not hide them behind closed doors. To be sure, many fear a backlash that can affect them financially and otherwise; but for the "true believers" who are doing what's right, will speak out much like Lupe did.

Thank God there are still people out there, even among young entertainers, who have convictions that they will openly share in the spotlight. They're obviously not beholden to "the man" or any political party.

Read and learn stop being so visceral. Our founding fathers were free thinkers so watching fox, cnn, msnbc and read.

Pop singers are neither bright or sincere ...they're guided by ego ...I hope it does tarnish his career because he's not that talented ...But these days even if you physically beat someone to a pulp, you'll still score huge deals with record companies ...maybe they're the terrorists. Leave real honest protests to the Pete Seegers ...Or try humility the way Dylan or Springsteen do.

Lupe Fiasco is not very educated about the world at all. He is not very talented either.

You guys seem not to understand the concept Lupe is trying to create. He is trying to be rebellious in every way instead of going along with everything they say. This way when enough people are speaking out, there might be some changes. He's trying to show he is not scared of big government and neither should you. and you should never accept absolute power, the power the government holds.

Not to say that Lupe is right or wrong, but he has valid points. Voting got us nowhere but in two wars and into debt not to mention the beginning of the another depression. Obama has allowed the government to lie to the people, which I feel is the worst thing that was never said. Obama's admin put out images of Bin Laden when he was deathly ill in just 2001 with no mention of recovery.
If Obama was so Muslim friendly, Bin Laden would have been buried facing Mecca as is Islamic culture that even Hussein was awarded after his public beheading.

Because people like Lupe and Kanye are so erratic, spontaneous, and unpredictable the disillusioned masses won't be able to differentiate the sense from the nonsense they spew. They are intelligent - that's why they're rich and influential unlike rappers of the past.

Regardless of ther lack of details or "proper" articulation, their wrds ring true and passionate. Its something worth researching and looking into. Before being denounced.... at least that's what intelligent scholars do.

Thank God! Another artist not afraid of speaking up! Bush may have put our troops in the wrong place, and many may have given their lives for Our safety..... But that is what our military personel signed up for* ....Just so that 3 years later, people who have the right to speak their opinions, can sit, or stand, and argue about current affairs. When really we all could be dead in a matter of minutes if our military officers and privates alike have their paychecks cut and furthermore resign or AWOL or refuse to enlist(re)* Obama is making sure the American people never have a dime in their pockets and this, to affect our LEGAL citizens and their families to the 3rd & 4th generations.?!? Go ahead give Obama BIN LAdEN praise - you are a terrorist by heart for doing so. SHAME on you for not standing by your fellow man and not agreeing that there is no more room for failure! Shame on you for thinking that one man is right in all of this! We are all suffering, and people who disagree are making it worse and unfair to those of us WHO GIVE A DAMN! I am a conservative, Christian believer 25 years young and I STAND UNDER GOD! This country is a modern day babylon and our current leader is modern day Saul. Godbless our country, Godbless our nations history and I say God-bless Obama right smack upside the head, with a swift kick out the whitehouse! Very soon I hope!
