Kanye West 'deeply disappointed' over 'bogus and unsanctioned' 'Mama’s Boyfriend' leak

Kanye West has been notoriously silent as of late -– hopefully focusing all of his energy on his joint album with Jay-Z “Watch the Throne” -- but an unauthorized leak of an unfinished track has the rapper fuming.

West has found himself a trending topic online after a track titled “Mama’s Boyfriend” made the rounds.

He had previewed the track at Facebook’s headquarters last July as a sampling of what to expect from his since released, and critically acclaimed, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.” On the track, which didn’t end up on the album, West is blasting a man for trying to win his favor just so he can date his mother, something any child of a single-parent household has probably experienced.

The song holds a special place in West's catalog because it explores his bond with his mother Donda West, who died in 2007. After its leak, West is none too happy: Not one to bite his tongue, he issued a response Wednesday, but surprisingly not through Twitter or on his personal website.

He went the good ole fashion way of releasing a statement through his rep.

“The version of the Kanye West recording ‘Mama’s Boy’ that arrived on blog sites earlier this week is entirely bogus and unsanctioned, and violates the artist’s creative intentions. As is often the unfortunate case, an unknown party or parties got a hold of Kanye West’s vocal track and added their own soundbed to it, effectively and falsely releasing it as a Kanye West track from the ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ sessions,” the statement read.

“The result in no way resembles the final song Kanye West intended his fans to hear, and he is deeply disappointed that one of the most personal, meaningful and special songs he has ever written would reach people in this way. Needless to say, measures are being taken to identify and prosecute the persons responsible for leaking this material.”

As of Wednesday the offending track had disappeared from YouTube, but has since popped up elsewhere for those with a working sense of Google.

"It took me 32 years of my life to write it,” he said before introducing an a capella version of the track to Facebook, which you can hear here (and yes, there is profanity and use of the n-word)

lame, lame, lame, that the LA Times would run this

What a funky thing to do. Kanye you deserve a break. Many will never understand your pain in getting these thoughts out of your head. I remember being with your Mother at the VMA's how proud of you she was. She was always proud of you. I don't think you knew that the night you made your speech at the Recording Academy in Chicago, she cried, because it was an excellent speech filled with truth, relevance and tenderness. She said: "she had never heard you speak like that before". I miss her too. No..never will my missing her ever equal what you feel, but outside of my personal relationship, Donda was my closet female friend. I wnted to be close to you after her death, but I did not know how to, I was afraid you would have thought I wanted to touch your fame or fortune and for that reason I stayed away from you..physically, but I thought of you, prayed for you and hoped you would find peace and happiness.

Oh Boo Hoo Kanye , I'm sick of hearing about a talentless hack like you in the news. Get over it dude. I'm sure Taylor Swift did.

The rest of us are just deeply disappointed that anyone allows Kanye near a recording studio....
