Julie Budet, the frontwoman for French electro-pop trio Yelle, had three commands while onstage Saturday evening: “Dance! Dance! Dance!” It was a requirement that the thousands of already sweat-drenched attendees stuffed into the Gobi tent had no problem meeting.

Clad in a red catsuit, Budet and band flew through the discothèque anthems that made both their 2008 debut, ‘Pop Up,’ and its follow-up, March’s “Safari Disco Club,” top 10 hits on U.S. dance and electronic music charts. With bodies slathered in glitter and feathers, the band offered international pop -- America’s weakness of late -– that caused some sort of frenzy, even if most didn’t know the language (quel dommage).

“I want more energy,” Budet demanded, and the audience obliged.
