Remembering Nathaniel 'Nate Dogg' Hale in video

News of the untimely death of West Coast singer Nathaniel “Nate Dogg” Hale spread, like most bad news does nowadays, on Twitter late Tuesday night.

Tributes from everyone ranging from longtime friend and collaborator Snoop Dogg to “Glee’s” Kevin McHale poured in on the social network.

"We lost a true legend n hip hop n rnb. One of my best friends n a brother to me since 1986 when I was a sophomore at poly high where we met," Snoop wrote. "I love u buddy luv. U will always b wit me 4ever n a day u put the g n g funk u put the 1 n 213 n u put yo stamp on evrybdy u ever didit wit"

According to the Long Beach Press-Telegram, the death of Long Beach native Hale – known for his gruff baritone vocals -- was announced by his family late Tuesday.

Though no cause of death was immediately announced it was widely reported that the 41-year-old suffered strokes in both 2007 and 2008.

It would be remiss of Pop & Hiss to not highlight his indelible contributions to hip-hop -- he especially leaves an undeniable imprint on West Coast rap. We’re sure the "Respect the West" Showcase going down at the South by Southwest Music Conference in Austin, Texas, on Saturday will become an easy tribute to Hale, who lent his unforgettable tone to ubiquitous hooks on hits from Dr. Dre, Warren G and Snoop Dogg over the years.

Though there are dozens of jams in his catalog, let’s hit you with a few essentials:

"4ever n a day u put the g n g funk u put the 1 n 213 n u put yo stamp on evrybdy u ever didit wit"

Seriously is this what it takes to be a reporter for a reputable newspaper like the latimes!!! I know snoop at least attended the 10th grade and he does not speak like this. since we are on the subject of texting LOL!!

A True Legend in his own game. He didn't have alot of songs but they were all unique in his way. RIP.

My prayer is that all will come to know Christ. But as for hip hop, it is the worst thing that ever happened to music. Bad stuff!!!

it's so crazy because just last night i was posting his video's on my facebook page and i wake up this mornig and i hear and read the news. So sad I loved his music one of my top 5 best rappers to me anyways. R.I.P you will be missed!!

Classic baritone. Great sound and spirit. RIP.

Miss you already Nate!!!

Nate RIP my brother you are and will always be one of the legends in the HipHop generation. My prayers go out to your family!

REST IN PARADISE NATE!!! "NEVER LEAVE ME ALONE"

RIP Nate Dogg =(

You leave us with wonderful memories of our life growing up and jamming to your music.

He had a lot of songs in his catalog. Over 40 charted hits. His voice was smooth, unique, soulful ... not gruff. He was a singer, not a rapper. He brought beauty to hip hop with that voice. One of a kind and instantly recognizable. G Funk Era! Very sad about his passing and reading of his last few months paralyzed, unable to speak. I hope he knew how loved and respected he was. RIP D O Double G.

Yo, Mike, Snoop was on Twitter, which only takes 140 characters per tweet. He posted multiple tweets; back up off him.

You will be missed. My prayers go to Nate's family.

DAMN IT JUST SEEMS AS IF EVERYONE IS LEAVEN THIS EARTH SO QUICK PPL GET RITE WIT GOD U NEVER KNOW WHEN YO NUMBER IS GOING TO B UP WE HAVE SUFFERED A GREAT LOST TODAY AND I CAN TRUELY SAY HE WILL BE MISSED!!!R.I.P NATE

Ah the leftists mourning the loss of another urban sociopath who corrupted young minds with aural sewage. Good riddance suckas.

41 years old... The good die young. His voice made it cool for a man to sing at a time when rapping was the only way. He paved the way for today's male crooners to do what they do. Lay In Peace, Nate Dogg

That great baritone voice. Wasted on on Hip Hop. In a better society, he would have been the African "Il Divo".

Is it cuz they like my gangsta walk?
Is it cuz they like my gangsta talk?
Is it cuz they like my handsome face?
Is it cuz they like my gangsta ways?
Whatever it is, they love it......

YOU'LL BE MISSED......;(
