Decent line-up, although Kings of Leon are terrible.
I don't understand the Kanye hate. You must not know anything about music if you think he's a terrible performer, or his music is bad. Plus, why would you let one performer spoil your weekend, just don't go see him.

LOL! This is an awful, awful lineup. I'll just wait to see some of these bands on their own tour, rather than having to sit through Kanye West incoherent rants, a cheesy 80s band (what, Flock of Seagulls backed out?), and a dinosaur in the form of Los Caifanes. hahaha.... Also, Jimmy Eat World? Really? Coachella really think they can capture the 13 to 15 demographic with $300 tickets? I mean, these kids are ballers, but they ballin' like that yet, especially not for a band they could watch at their local county fair.

Kanye, Erykah, Neon Trees, Wiz Khalifa?? hell yeah!!! And for all of you who feel Kanye is a bad addition to the line up, I hope you realize that people hating him is the reason he gives such a good show. So keep the hate coming cause thats one less head I have to be worried about looking over!

Wiz Khalifa the hotttest rapper in the game right now big ups to them on that one. Sunday for my first time I will go to see him, scene Kanye before I didn't run out of the building like it was on fire. Which is what you guys are acting like you would do if you were at one of his shows.

So I see all the rumors of Daft Punk at Coachella were wrong. *Sigh* They were one of the main reasons I was waiting with anticipation for the official lineup. Kanye West? Uhm... Let's see what "controversy" he starts up this time.

Kanye West? Are you kidding me? That guy blows. I like KOL but recently saw them at the Bowl and don't need to put up with all the hassle to see them at Indio. The rest of the lineup is mediocre. Who booked these acts? Bozo the Clown?

Without Slayer, this concert is pointless.

vondur you rule!!
$300 for this lineup not on your life!!! where is the Rock I thought we would at least get System Of A Down this year cause of all the fest they have lined up for Europe.....Bummer not going!!

Nope not anyone I care to see.

That lineup is a whole lotta very weak "stuff." Good to know it will be a great weekend to go somewhere else.

I'm psyched to see The Joy Formidable, Elbow, Wire, Andy C, and tons of other artists in the line-up this year. I've been to every Coachella except 2005, and I've had a blast at every one, even when Radiohead wasn't playing. If you don't like what's on the main stage, head over to the Sahara Tent and see what's up. Or go have a beer in the beer garden. Last year Jay Z played the main stage but I missed it happily because I was watching a mind-blowing performance by PIL. Coachella is the best.

Nothing will ever top 2004: Flaming Lips, Pixies & Radiohead back to back to back.
Haven't been back since and won't again based on this lineup.

anyone complaining about Kanye is either a close minded moron or just a pretentious idiot.
Oh, kanye is a douche or arrogant, i'm not going to listen to his music...
how arrogant is that in itself?

DURAN DURANA! yes!!! Kanye West BOOOO!!!!!
Posted by: Lily E | January 19, 2011 at 07:40 PM
im just going to see caifanes!!!! reunion after 15 years!!!! :)
Posted by: LIZ | January 19, 2011 at 07:58 PM
@Da Maverick, Duran Duran was headlining a packed Staples Center as recently as 2005. Most of their 80's compatriots such as Flock of Seagulls were not.

Here's AEG's secret plan.....load up Coachella for 2-3 years - good acts, fun, get the ticket price up, etc. Then low ball a bunch of no-names to play in the early summer heat. The higher profit margin goes into AEG's pocket, the big star's stay away and you, the concert goer, gets mediocrity at its finest.
Take your $1,000 (tickets for 2, gas, food, lodging, drinks) to San Diego or LV for the weekend. You'll get more out of it and at probably half the cost!!!

Kanye is the LAST act on the LAST DAY of a 3-day event. Lots of cry babies here. More people want to see Kanye than don't, so do yourself a favor and go to Coachella anyway, leave early, and beat the traffic on the way home from having a blast at Coachella. I hate Kanye's misguided rants as much as anyone but there's no way I'm going to let that ruin another awesome experience around great people enjoying one of the best festivals in the entire world.

Personally, I'm glad Kanye's performing. Everyone at Coachella with an IQ under 80 will flock over to him and leave whatever stages real artists are performing at that much emptier for me and the rest of the people who actually come for good music.
And if he demands to be the single last act, which the conceited schmuck probably will, then good, I'll be able to leave early and beat the crowd. I say it's a win either way.

People who would not go bc of Kanye obviously don't know what makes Coachella great.

@Thetired
idk what you mean by"worthwhile" but kanye has produce some Jay-Z best albums. Am not sure if you like or dont like Jay-Z but I would assume most would think Jay-Z as worthwhile, Jay-Z has been one of the biggest names in music ever since he join the scene. Kanye has also produce critically acclaim albums for both john legend and Common, which help john legend win his grammy for best knew artist. Kanye has also sign and influence young artist such as kid cudi, big sean, and cyhi the prince. Kanye won a grammy as a producer for one of Alicia keys biggest songs(you don't know my name). Nicki Minaj also called west her mentor(since wayne was in prison, she look towards kanye for help on her album). Through his role as a producer kanye has influence a countless number of artist. You may dismiss all of the artist kanye has influence as not being "worthwhile" by your standards, but it does not change to fact kanye does have a major influence in the hip-hop/rap music scene.
