Coachella Music and Arts Festival 2011 sells out

It's a simple tweet that Coachella posted a half-hour ago, one that perhaps crushes the dreams of procrastinating and/or stoned music fans everywhere:

“No, we don’t have any passes left to release, kthxbye”

That's right: The festival in the desert is sold out. Where now? Craigslist? Perhaps, but before you make any hasty decisions, be aware that counterfeiters have been known to prey on desperate (and/or stoned) concertgoers looking for passes at the site.

Just be careful out there.

Last year it sold out a week before the Friday start time. What gives?? Scalpers or Kayne West has been forgiven??

Kewl, can't wait to see 'Tallica!!

What about the stoners that bougth layaway and allready got there camping passes. LA TIMES IS FAILBLOG #1 Starting with there weak reports by struggling reporters.

Hmmmm...Coachella or Hawaii for the weekend? that's the 3-day pass and lodging requirement question

Sold out in a week? This is truly amazing. Don't know if its because of scalpers or KOL/Kanye or because of the new layaway option. Ironically, there will be a ton of working class attendees like myself who could've never gone without the layaway option...and also alot of trust funders who will have to shell out a grand for a ticket on E-bay.

The LAT really has a crush on this and Burning Man. Who of you out there that are gainfully employed, bathe regularly, are tattoo and drug free actually care about either event?

Well there are always tours...

@Yikes - I am gainfully employed, I bathe regularly, am drug and tattoo free and guess what? I'm totally going to Coachella... thanks for your assumptions... you know what they make of you!

@Ferrara - FYI: the layaway tickets have been available for the festival since 2009, so it isn't something that is new... did it last year, and for this year.

Coachella is sold out and has sold out ever since they've started filling the polo grounds with 75,000+ attendees (mostly upper middle class wannabe hipster kids sporting the latest "kewl" trends). It's a jungle in there. Also, the lineup is poop.
