Tonight at a revived (for one night only) Club Lingerie in Hollywood, punk rock will happen, and it will feature two legendary bands and one ‘supergroup,’ if it is permissable to use such a word in conjunction with hardcore punk. The supergroup in question is Off!, the new project put together by former Circle Jerks/Black Flag screamer Keith Morris and featuring Steven McDonald of Redd Kross on bass, Dimitri Coats of Burning Brides on guitar, and Mario Rubalcaba (Rocket From the Crypt, Hot Snakes, Clikitat Ikatowi, Earthless) on drums. The band’s first EP came out Tuesday on Vice Records, and they’re teasing the release with a handful of performances.

Also on the bill are two bands that rose to prominence in the late 1970s and early ‘80s: Catchy-agressive Redd Kross, who will be performing their early L.A. classics, and D.C. punk icons Scream, whose early work on Ian MacKaye’s great Dischord label was a template for the entire hardcore subgenre. This looks to be a pretty furious show. Expect sweat in the evening, and bruises in the morning.
