Nico Vega, Soko, LA Ladies Choir at Echoplex Haiti benefit tonight
For anyone who wants to meld show-going and Haiti fundraising but can't swing the few hundred bucks in couch change it'll take to get into Radiohead at the Fonda on Sunday, the Echoplex and Manimal Vinyl are hosting a smaller but equally worthy benefit tonight.
Slinky noir-rockers Nico Vega, the gamine French siren Soko and the sprawling a capella ensemble LA Ladies Choir (which counts the vocalists of practically every female-fronted indie band in town among its members) will headline starting at 7 p.m., with a raffle hawking prizes like dinner for two at Elf in Echo Park, collectibles from Yoko Ono and more.
Admission is a $10 donation, and all proceeds go to Doctors Without Borders.

Thanks for the notice of Nico Vega performing for Haitian Relief at the Echoplex. Would be nice however to illustrate this and other pieces such as this with a contemporary photo of the subject act so that it reflects the band's current lineup. Drummer Dan Epand has been a member of Nico Vega for a few years now, and that is the group performing tonight. But thanks again for the mention. All the best.
