Brian Setzer hospitalized, released on the way to L.A. gigs this weekend

Rocker Brian Setzer was hospitalized briefly after cutting a show short Monday night in Albuquerque, N.M., because he was feeling ill. Doctors attributed it to a combination of Albuquerque’s altitude — the city’s elevation is about 5,300 feet — vertigo and dehydration. He had played for less than 30 minutes when he decided he couldn’t continue.

Setzer, 50, was released and said to be fully recovered and planning to resume the tour with a show tonight in Phoenix on his way to his L.A. performances Friday and Saturday at the Gibson Amphitheatre.

I was at the concert. Waited 5 years before I was able to see him, as I'm self-employed and work always got in the way. I wish someone could tell me differently, but I think he drank too much before he took the stage. In between songs he made reference to having family in the area and then something about "alot of alcohol". Sounds like self-indictment to me! If this is the case, he totally disrespected the sold-out Albuquerque crowd, and every other tour stop gets to see the great show of which we were robbed. Difficult to continue being a Setzer fan, based on the available evidence. At 50 years old, he should be better able to control his behavior. I would love for someone to prove me wrong!
