Though it won't be released in time for holiday shoppers, those with designs on "Michael Jackson's This Is It"won't have to wait too long. The behind-the-scenes concert film will be released Jan. 26 on Blu-ray, DVD, PSP and digital download from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

"Michael Jackson's This Is It" chronicles what would have been the singer's comeback concerts at London's O2 Arena. The home video release comes packed with bonus behind-the-scenes bonus featurettes, including detailed looks at auditions, costumes and extra rehearsal footage.

Those who spring for the Blu-ray will see complete uncut versions of "Smooth Criminal" and "Thriller," as well as a special vignette that details the process of attempting to bring "Thriller" to the stage in 2009. A complete rundown of DVD and Blu-ray extras can be found after the jump.

"This Is It" was originally said to have just a two-week theatrical run when it opened in October, but in a surprise to no one it was extended. Our sister blog Company Town earlier detailed why the film would not be released on home video in time for the holiday season.

"While that made sense for Sony, owners of the nation's cinemas were none too happy at the prospect," wrote Company Town. "They have historically urged studios to wait at least 90 days, but preferably four months, from the day a movie opens in theaters to start selling the DVD, in order to maximize ticket sales."
