2009 MTV Video Music Awards: Burning questions
MTV continues to put the word "awards" in the name of its annual pat-on-the-back fest. Yet despite an opening homage to Michael Jackson, the telecast isn’t so much about honoring as it is about promoting.
This year should be no different, as the MTV VMAs look to be a bit of a "Twilight" extravaganza. There’s Ashley Green in the pre-show, Muse on the telecast and an extended trailer for "Twilight: New Moon" at some point in between.Of course, there will be plenty of music. Taylor Swift looks to continue to assert her award-show dominance, Jay-Z has a new album to promote and Lady Gaga will surely show up in some crazy outfit to be talked about Monday morning.
At least we hope so. After all, celeb stunts are why most of us tune in, and the VMAs have their work cut out for them. Topping the Bruno-Eminem saga from the recent MTV Movie Awards won’t be easy, but The Envelope gives us some story lines to follow.
Come back to Pop & Hiss on Sunday for live updates on the MTV Video Music Awards.

West should be banned from any future music awards!
Please remember/keep in mind that West has had his moment and that an apology can not change the moment that was taken away from Taylor!!!!
