Noel Gallagher quits Oasis--again

August 28, 2009 |  4:39 pm

It appears that Noel Gallagher has left Oasis — again.

“It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight,” Gallagher writes in a note posted on the Manchester band’s MySpace page. “People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer."

The group’s scheduled Paris show tonight was called off by way of  a message on video screens that stated, “As a result of an altercation within the band, the Oasis gig has been canceled,” according to Rolling Stone.

Noel Gallagher also checked out from the band during a show in Paris and interrupted its 2000 world tour. The Gallagher brothers historically have had a rocky relationship, and that band’s career has transpired in fits and starts. Their most recent album, “Dig Out Your Soul,” was released last fall.

His MySpace note concludes: "Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan."

OASIS YOU'RE GONNA LIVE FOREVER

Best band of the 90's

Glad I saw them in December. Figured this would happen.
'Twas quite a good show ...

a sad day if indeed true. 15 years of amazing music. live forever.

They're living legends, but they haven't released a totally solid studio album since Morning Glory.

They'll be back together again.
