UPDATE: Hercules and Love Affair reconfiguring lineup, off Coachella
When the Coachella Music and Arts Festival begins April 17 in Indio, Calif., it will apparently do so with a little less disco on its bill. Hercules and Love Affair are no longer performing on the fest's second night, a rep for Coachella confirms.
The band's name recently disappeared from the Coachella lineup. "They are no longer on the bill" was the only information given to Pop & Hiss. A few days later, the band's manager sent along a statement that says the act is "currently undergoing a reconfiguration of its live show."
"We will have an all-new lineup and show for you soon and hope that you'll be there to experience it with us," reads the statement. "As not only musicians, but as fans, we look forward to Coachella every year. It is one of the great annual events that celebrates people coming together from all around the world to enjoy music. Thank you for understanding and we look forward to seeing you all soon."
Those on the Coachella message boards noticed the absence of the band this weekend, and fans aren't taking it well. Wrote one poster, "Somebody's grandma better be dying, otherwise, this is inexcusable!"
The act's MySpace page and official website makes no mention of the news. Pop & Hiss has reached out to the band's publicist, management and booking agent, and we'll update with more info when we have it.
