Mezklah bassist injured in nasty car accident

December 9, 2008 |  6:05 pm

Mezklah200 Fans of Latin-laced drum and bass need to rustle up some love and cash for Mezklah bassist Juan-Carlos Ramirez, who was badly hurt in a car crash in downtown L.A. on Saturday. He's currently nursing a broken pelvis and ruptured bladder at L.A. County-USC Medical Center, circumstances that probably add up to the least amount of fun a person could possibly be having. Mezklah will buck up and play two scheduled shows at the Derby on Friday and the Silverlake Lounge on the 17th in his absence, where fans can make donations to Ramirez, who has some insurance but not enough to assuage his newfound stack of hospital bills. While you're there, buying a few copies of their quite good "Bestia Sonika " EP is an easy way to help get him back on his feet.

(UPDATE: Their show at the Silverlake Lounge is on the 17th)
