Mezklah bassist out of hospital, hopes to be back onstage in February

December 12, 2008 |  5:42 pm

Juancarlos275 As Pop & Hiss told you Thursday, Mezklah bassist and sometime-trumpeter Juan-Carlos Ramirez was hospitalized with a broken pelvis and ruptured bladder suffered in a downtown L.A. car accident. He was released today from L.A. County-USC Medical Center but isn't quite ready to supply his part of the backbone for Mezklah's Latin-trippy drum and bass. Mezklah still plans on playing scheduled shows at the Derby tonight and the Silverlake Lounge on the 17th. Fans can make donations to Ramirez at the gigs. The bassist, according to a band representative, is in good spirits and hopes to be back onstage in February.
