La Roux has ensared us in 'Quicksand'
We'd like to offer a hearty thanks to our favorite Swedes over at Discobelle for their tip that made it necessary for us to just now play La Roux's "Quicksand" six thousand times in a row to finally dislodge it from our skulls. The alter-ego of Elly Jackson, a flame-haired 20-year-old new-disco singer from Britain, La Roux released this slinky little electro-soul number on the always awesome French label Kitsune to preview her upcoming European tour with Lily Allen. There's lots to love about the video for the single --the sherbert color palette, the deadpan ballet, her inexplicable transmogrification into a tiger -- but anyone who admits on her blog that "I just like having stupid, over-the-top Flock of Seagulls hair because it's more fun" is already a friend of ours.
