Is it already time for 'American Idol'? With Idol Tracker, it's always time

December 16, 2008 |  5:35 pm

Pop & Hiss has written about "American Idol" a bit.

Show Tracker has written about "American Idol" a lot.

So rather than let "American Idol" eventually take over both blogs, "Idol" guru Richard Rushfield will now spearhead the all-"Idol," all-the-time blog, Idol Tracker. The blog already has categories for your favorite "Idol" stars, from Carrie Underwood to David Archuleta, and Pop & Hiss staple and chief pop critic Ann Powers will be contributing, so we promise to be nice.

"Idol" starts in about a month, but Idol Tracker is up and running now, launching with a look at Carly Smithson in the studio. Watch the video below, and then head to Idol Tracker for more. And if you like, follow Idol Tracker on Twitter.

What is the real purpose of the American Idol Contest? Is it to inject more religious people into pop music it seems apparent in the Cross with Bling worn by the Hudge Randy Jackson and the contestants praising the Lord for helping them win I'm sick if the show the one year they had the preteens on by themselves was more entertaining
