Grammy Museum releases ticket info for Brian Wilson event

December 20, 2008 |  2:27 pm

Tickets will go on sale Monday for the Jan. 15 event "An Evening With Brian Wilson," the first major happening at the recently opened Grammy Museum in downtown Los Angeles. Museum members, however, can purchase tickets today and Sunday. Tickets can be bought only by calling the Grammy Museum box office or visiting the museum, located across from Staples Center at downtown's L.A. Live complex.

The event will be the first in a series of Grammy Museum discussions with famed artists and industry executives. Wilson will chat with Robert Santelli, the museum's executive director, at the facility's 200-seat theater. After the Q&A with Santelli, a Grammy Museum news release says, Wilson will take questions from fans and perform a few songs acoustically. However, a Grammy Museum spokeswoman stresses that the performance part of the evening will be minimal. Tickets are $20 for nonmembers, $18 for members.

Though tickets went on sale to museum members Friday, there will still be tickets available for the public on sale Monday, the spokeswoman said. The Grammy Museum box office opens at 10 a.m. and can be reached directly at (213) 765-6800; additional information can be had here.

The Grammy Museum has an impressive slate of January events, including behind-the-scenes looks at the Grammy Awards and a discussion with jazz artists Charlie Haden and Alan Broadbent. Pop & Hiss earlier offered a complete rundown, and is planning coverage for each.

Update: Tickets will also be available Monday at noon via Ticketmaster, according to a Grammy Museum spokeswoman.
