Coldplay, Adele, Jennifer Hudson and Josh Groban will perform at the 2009 MusiCares person of the year gala on Feb. 6 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. As previously reported, MusiCares, the charitable arm of the Recording Academy, will honor Neil Diamond at this year's event.

Other performers include the Foo Fighters, who tend to appear at all Grammy-related activities, and country singers Tim McGraw and Raul Malo. Performing artists will tackle a selection from the Diamond catalog. The annual fundraiser, which is set for two nights before the Recording Academy hosts the Feb. 8 Grammy Awards, will be celebrating Diamond's philanthropic work, which of late has involved donating funds to Hurricane Ike relief efforts in Texas.

Diamond has been nominated for 12 Grammys and won in 1973 for best original score for a motion picture or a television special for his work on "Jonathan Livingston Seagull." Diamond scored his first No. 1 album on the U.S. pop charts this year for his "Home Before Dark."

This year, MusiCares recognized soul legend Aretha Franklin and hosted an extensive gospel tribute on its February Grammy broadcast.

Those interested in more information on purchasing tables or tickets to the event are encouraged to call MusiCares at (310) 392-3777.

YAY JENNY IS COMING BACK!!!, baby girl we missed u we love you welcome!!!

I'm so glad that J-Hud is coming back!!!

Hooray, Jennifer! I wonder what song she will sing! I wish this was televised.

That is a great group of entertainers. I wish David Cook was included in this tribute. He did an amazing job covering two of Neil's songs on last season of AI. All judges said he took an old song and made it so current that it could be a hit on the radio today. It was the song All I Really Need is You. The other song was I'm Alive. Neil loved David Cook and what he did with his songs.

Any chance MusiCares can get David Cook to reprise his version of Neil's "All I Really Need Is You"? Even Neil was impressed with that performance, which was forgotten way too quickly in the wake of "Paulagate." Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S707e88UrZw&feature=related

Will fans be able to view or hear the performances from the guests? I'd love to see them.
