Beyonce at No. 1 with 'Sasha Fierce'

Beyonce is fierce indeed, topping the national sales chart this week with her new two-CD set "I Am ... Sasha Fierce," which sold 482,000 copies during its first week in stores. It's one of several new releases breaking into the top 10 as the final weeks leading up to Christmas heat up the action from some of pop music’s heaviest hitters.

Behind Beyonce at No. 2 is Canadian rock group Nickelback, whose new “Dark Horse” started out with sales of 326,000 copies. Coming in at No. 3 is “American Idol” champ David Cook, logging a first-week figure of 280,000 for the album bearing his name.

Taylor Swift’s “Fearless,” last week’s No. 1 album, dropped to No. 4 on second-week sales of 217,000 copies. The multinational vocal group Il Divo landed behind Swift at No. 5 with sales of 162,000 copies of its new one, “The Promise,” according to Billboard.

i love put a ring on it i totally can not get that song out of my mind

sasha fierce sucks! i really hate to say that because i love beyonce as an artist... but really two disks?? was that necessary?? I beg to differ... keep doin you though B! Hopefully the next cd will be better... To date the first album is by far the greatest!

Beyonce' did not do well this time around. She may have reached No.1 but her previous CDs saw greater numbers during their 1st week releases. Cadillac Records also did not do well. Could it be Ms. Knowles is overrated and the people are finally speaking? Just a thought.

Beyonce's #'s are actually better than her last two albums! Musically, this album may not be better! However, the sales speak for itself! She may not have sold has much as BDay in her 1st week sales, but she did sell more than Dangerously in Love. She has already been certified platninum after 3 WEEKS for I am Sasha Fierce! I think people don't like this album because they have never heard this type of music from Beyonce. Also, Cadillac Records did not do bad at all. It only opened at 690 theaters which is small compared to the other movies that were released at about 3000 theaters. Before commenting, please study your facts! You make yourself really look ignorant!!! Just a thought!

well, beyonce knowles just did a great job, she were putting out new music..and she is totally different from the other artists. NOTHING COMPARES TO HER
