'Part of the Weekend Never Dies' screens Tuesday

October 27, 2008 |  6:33 pm

In some party people's minds, Tuesday still counts as the weekend, so it's a fitting day to show "Part of the Weekend Never Dies." Cinema Tuesdays, the flux showcase of generally cool film at the Montalban (or, as Nike calls it, the Nike Sportswear at the Montalban... oh, sponsorship), will screen the Saam Farahmand documentary on Soulwax's exhaustive world tour. Shot by Soulwax and Partizan's Farahmand, whose music video for These New Puritans is taut and creepy, "Part of the Weekend" was shot with one camera but it covers 120 shows of people dancing, tweaking and generally freaking out, as the trailer (see above) and website schizophrenically attests.

The music doc also features 2manydjs (another Soul Wax incarnation), LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy and Nancy Whang, Erol Alkan, Tiga, Justice, Busy P, Peaches, Klaxons and others.
