'Hunger Games' update: Primrose Everdeen character cast
Katniss Everdeen now has a sister. Lionsgate announced Wednesday that New Mexico native Willow Shields will play Primrose Everdeen in "The Hunger Games" for director Gary Ross. It'll be her debut film performance.
Said Ross of the casting: "It's so exciting to find an amazing young actress like the one we just met. Prim is an emotionally demanding role and in many ways she is the cornerstone of the story. Willow Shields will make an amazing Prim and we're lucky to have her."
Prim is the younger sister of Katniss. In the first novel of Suzanne Collins' "Hunger Games" trilogy, she is initially chosen for the annual games but Katniss steps in to take her place, protecting her beloved sister from the brutal killing games.
"The Hunger Games" will open next March. Production on the highly anticipated film begins shortly.

Wow she even looks a bit like Jennifer Lawrence, who is slated to play Katniss. Very good casting appearance wise.

I'd have to say that she's absolutely perfect for Primrose Everdeen. It's really sad though that she dies in Mockingjay. I think the casting is going exceptionally well.

@ Suua P.: Exactly what trouble did you save by revealing something that happens two books from the movie that is just being casted? What part of this current discussion was being impeded or troubled by not talking about that spoiler? And even if you could make an argument for that, it's usually polite to do a ****SPOILER ALERT**** when you're revealing information like that.

Look closely...if you reduce the tone on eyebrow this girl, she looks vulnerable exactly fit the role for Primrose. On top that, her feature looks quite the same of this preview trailer..

okay, i think they do a great job on 2nd part of casting.
but, please rethink on Josh part for Peeta. I can't take him seriously. He looks like a kid for me.

Look Spoiler, you probably haven't read Mockingjay yet and it isn't my fault that there are too many tragic scenes in these series (like the loss of Rue which was in the first book), but really, people are entitled to their own opinions. My suggestion, read the rest of the series so you don't feel so bothered by other comments.

so far i think almost every person cast is so wrong, its comical. katniss should have grey eyes olive skin and dark hair jennifer is pale blonde and blue eyed. gale should be brunette liam is blonde, peeta should be blonde josh is brunette, and prim is supposed to be blonde with blue eyes. that is what sets her apart from everyone in the seam. unless they make some major alterations to the physical appearances of the actors, the movie is just not going to work
