Six days of Oscar: Who will win today?

It’s just a few hours to the Oscars, which means if you haven’t filled out your pool, you may as well throw a few darts and let ‘er rip.

We’ll have plenty more from the red carpet and backstage at the Kodak Theatre later, but in the meantime, here are our picks for the final four of director, actors and best picture.

Actor:
By this point, there’s little drama in either of the leading acting categories. For the men, it’s the duke of York by a wide margin.

Actress:
It’s not that much more competitive for the women.

Director:
With the academy going to 10 choices, the director category stands as the most prominent filmmaking prize with only five slots. This year, there’s a particular drama as two candidates -- David Fincher and Tom Hooper -- are running neck and neck. ‘The Social Network’ director David Fincher looks to be a strong contender to pick up his first Oscar even if his film doesn’t win best picture. Then again, the academy rarely diverges on picture and director -- the last time it did that was in 2006. And if ‘The King’s Speech’ sweeps the ballot, Hooper could well go with it.

Best picture:
The arguments go back and forth -- all the early momentum and critics’ approval for ‘The Social Network’ and all the guild wins for ‘The King’s Speech.’ The editors handing ‘Network’ a win last week throws in a little monkey wrench, but we still think the royals edge out the Facebookers.
