Kristen Stewart: 'Breaking Dawn' will change people's minds about Bella Swan

October 18, 2010 |  7:06 pm

Getprev"Twilight" fans love to debate their favorite novel in Stephenie Meyer's bestselling vampire series. Kristen Stewart says she has her own favorite -- and it's the most explicit and intense of the bunch.

"This one's really good. This one really goes there, finally," said the actress who plays the iconic Bella Swan of "Breaking Dawn." "This one is like the forming of a family. You see everything really come to fruition because I feel like [Bella] has sort of gone through an accelerated growth period."

In November, Stewart will reprise the Bella role when she begins filming the first half of “Breaking Dawn,” the fourth movie in the “Twilight” franchise, which will be directed by Bill Condon. The story follows [spoiler alert: if you aren't familiar with "Breaking Dawn," skip to the last paragraph] Bella’s marriage to vampire Edward Cullen (Rob Pattinson), as the two finally consummate their relationship and Bella becomes pregnant.

"At this point," Stewart says, "you do accept [Bella] as a mom.”

Because their child is half-human and half-vampire, Bella’s pregnancy is riddled with complications -- all leading up to a dramatic birth scene, in which Edward tears open Bella’s stomach with his teeth to save their baby.

There has been speculation about how the graphic scene will be depicted on screen. Stewart acknowledges it's a "crazy concept," also describing werewolf Jacob's hearing "vampire teeth against vampire skin" during the childbirth scene.

Just how that will play out on screen, though, has yet to be determined. "I've seen the script," which tracks closely to the book, she says. "But it depends on how they shoot it."

Stewart, who was speaking to 24 Frames to promote her new independent drama "Welcome to the Rileys," said she thinks her "Twilight" character has been misunderstood. “Bella’s criticized sometimes for being, like, you know -- I don’t know, selfish and overly emotional and silly and frivolous and annoying and young,” said Stewart. “That’s sort of like a very judgmental way of looking at it."

I LIke video is very nice .

Oooh! I'll be waiting for Breaking Dawn to be shown in cinemas. I'm really looking forward to how they transform Bella into Vampire Bella. So far,the other 3 twilight movies aren't so bad, neither are the books. And i'm really curious to how this last one is gonna turn out! :D

And to those who criticize Twilight book series and movies, how about you guys try to write about 400-pages of books MULTIPLY BY 4, and try directing or producing a movie. You can have your own opinion, sure, but these guys have their own way of doing things. So don't question them whether they can make the movies better than the books or not, because it's not impossible to do so. Besides, the movie doesn't always have to follow exactly as how the book was written. If it's changed accordingly, it's gonna add that extra 'kick' to the storyline. :)

The books and movie have changed my life, all of the books is very good but last one is my favorite. I hope script writer this time write closely to book and movie will be better than "Eclipse" Kristen Stewart (Bella ) she is really good actress. I wandering, how is finish the first parts in the movie with born scene? or it will be in the other parts.

hi! kristen stewart your one of my favorite hollywood actress.
youre so unique than other thats why i really really like you,
good luck to your nxt movie babye!!

I haven't read the last book,Breaking Dawn yet. I have it sitting right here. I loved all the other ones so I'm kinda waiting til a little closer to the movie so I won't forget anything. Reading everything here I guess I better get reading it now. Sounds so good. I'll let u know.

I love all the Twilight books!!! Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn all of these books have made me picture every scene to every part or chapter of the story. I could never put any of these books down. When I finished reading all of them, I started to read the AGAIN starting from the very beginning (Twilight) till the last page of Breaking Dawn. Eclipse was my favorite book though I have to say, it had the most action. All the movies were awesome and I really can't wait for Breaking Dawn to come on screen =) My friends and I loved every aspect of the Twilight Saga

SO SUCK ON THAT HATERS!!!!

Ha ha! I think it is so funny how the Haters took the time to read this article, and then comment. I usually don't make a habit of closely following things I hate. I loved the books, it was a fun, easy read, Love the characters and the whole story! Can't wait to read it all again, and see Breaking Dawn in movie form!

i love the twilight saga i have not read the book breaking dawn yet it is still sitting on my desk i cant wait to read it im so excited that eclisp will be out on dvd on december 4th i cant wait to watch it over and over great fan and look forward to reading breaking dawn and hope she keeps the saga going and doesnt stop.

I would rather see them make three movies out of the last book than to leave any of the scenes out. The story line is full of multiple plots and the background of all the vampires is something that needs to be part of the "Breaking Dawn" movies. So help me, if the pillow and feather scenes are not part of this movie, they have failed to do Ms. Meyers book justice. I also hope that Charlie is depicted the same in the movie as in "Breaking Dawn" the book. This is some really humorous stuff here and Charlie plays a huge part in the story line. Can't wait to see "Breaking Dawn."

prety girl ur movies are all prety cool but be spiritual so that it wiill not ruin u negativelly thanks .u get tru nwaneevu@yahoo.com.

I have read the twilight saga 2x and Breaking Dawn is by far my favorite..I was proud of the way Bella handeled her pregnancy..Here she is litetlly dying everyday, yet she wouldn't let Carlisle and Edward "take care" of things..
Bella did everything to save her little nudgger, and in the end "dies"...I loved how Edward "saved" her

bella open your mind edward and you was a perfect couple....jacob and you is not perfect

Can't wait for Breaking Dawn movies,, i am curious to see how they make the graphic scenes from the book come to the big screen!
The Twightlight series has really got this fan caught,, hook line and sinker! The cast is fabulous,, and Edward & Bella,, well,, i can't describe what i think about them other than,, OMG,, fantastic!!

I love Breaking Dawn, I just REALLY hope this movie sticks closer to the book than the others, since it has the potential to be the BEST of the Twilight movies.

i love the book i have read and reread them about 70 times a piece, my infant baby even knows who "edward" is not that she watches the films. the only thing i have to say is that i hope they even out the scenes in breaking dawn, in the book, they kind of black out on the love scene, but are overly explicit in the birth scene, i hope they dial down the birth and step up the love scene,

I AM SO PLEASED THEY ARE STAYING CLOSE TO THE BOOK, THIS TIME. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF THE STORY. THIS BOOK IS THE CLIMAX OF THE WHOLE STORY OF EDWARD, BELLA AND JACOB. WHAT BECOMES OF THEM IN THE FUTURE HINGES ON THIS FINAL BOOK, I BELIEVE. I ONLY WISH MEYERS WOULD CONTINUE ON WITH THE SERIES. SHE HAS PLENTY OF MATERIAL TO DO SO, I THINK.SHE HAS CREATED SOME FACINATING CHARACTERS TO WORK WITH. I ENJOY HER BOOKS AND THE MOVIES VERY MUCH!

ugh i cant wait for breaking dawn i have like 50 twlight tshirts and handbags and wallets and jewelery im obessed lol love bella n edward :)

Ahhh, I can really not wait. I love all the movies, and they mean a lot to my brother and I. Breakinging Dawn is going to be killer<3

On the terms of Kristen Stewart, shes amazing(:

I am so excited to see how this turns out on screen.

And To El and all those others out there who are going to get on here and bash the books and the movies, here is a tip for you...IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, HATE IT, THINK ITS STUPID OR WHATEVER, THEN STAY OFF THE F-ING DISCUSSION BOARDS AND STOP READING THE ARTICLES ABOUT IT. Clearly you have some kind of interest in it otherwise you wouldn't be wasting your time on pages like these. If you do have something better to do then do it and stop irritating those of us who are interested.

Have a nice day :-)

Oh I CAN'T WAIT FOR BREAKING DAWN TO COME OUT EITHER AND I SO HOPE THAT THEY MAKE IT TOTALLY INTENSE EXSPECIALLY EDWARD AND BELLA'S HONEY MOON YOU KNOW WE HAVE ALL BEEN DYING TO SEE THIS.. I LOVE THE TWILIGHT SERIES!

I watched the first two films of this series and was baffled. I cannot understand the obsession with this story. The fact that this over-emotional trainwreck of a story was made into a movie before the Dark Tower series is a crime. Also, if Kristen Stewart doesn't agree with people's perception of her character then she should try to put a little more effort into her acting.
