American Cinema Editors honor ‘Hurt Locker,’ ‘The Hangover’

Eddie Awards also go to ‘Up’ and ‘The Cove’; ’30 Rock’ and ‘Breaking Bad’ are among the TV winners in Beverly Hills.
‘The Hurt Locker’ and ‘The Hangover’ shared the limelight at the American Cinema Editors’ 60th annual ACE Eddie Awards on Sunday evening.
Bob Murawski and Chris Innis won for ‘The Hurt Locker’ in the drama category, while Debra Neil-Fischer of ‘The Hangover’ was honored for the best edited comedy or musical film.
The awards were handed out at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Other film editors picking up awards were Kevin Nolting in the animation category for ‘Up’ and Geoffrey Richman in the documentary category for ‘The Cove.’
On the television side, Ken Eluto won edited half-hour series for the ‘Apollo Apollo’ episode of ’30 Rock,’ and Lynne Willingham won edited one-hour series for the ‘ABQ’ installment of ‘Breaking Bad.’
Louis Coiffi won for edited one-hour series for noncommercial TV for the ‘Remains to Be Seen’ episode of ‘Dexter,’ while Alan Heim and Lee Percy received the honor for edited miniseries or motion picture for television for ‘Grey Gardens.’
Kelly Coskran and Josh Earl won for edited reality series for the ‘Stay Focused and Die’ installment of ‘Deadliest Catch.’
The student editing competition winner was Andrew Hellesen of Chapman University.
Rob Reiner received the ACE Golden Eddie filmmaker of the year honor. Lifetime achievement awards went to Paul LaMastra and Neil Travis.
