Director Tanya Hamilton’s ‘Night Catches Us’ is one of the many in the Sundance awards hunt under the U.S. Dramatic Competition banner. The film, starring ‘The Hurt Locker’s’ Anthony Mackie, Kerry Washington, Jamie Hector, Wendell Pierce and Jamara Griffin, is set in mid-1970s Philadelphia, around a theme of former Black Panthers and revolutionary ideals and love exploding, etc. We got to have a quick chat with the director in which she explained the premise in her own words, and talked a bit about bringing the story to the screen.
