Susan King writes about film, TV, DVDs and theater for the Los Angeles Times, where she has been a staff writer since 1990. She was previously an entertainment writer at the Los Angeles Herald Examiner. A native of East Orange, New Jersey, she has a B.A. in History from Allegheny College in Meadville Pa. -- birthplace of Sharon Stone -- and a M.A. in film history and criticism from USC School of Cinematic Arts. She even got the opportunity to chat on the phone with her thesis subject -- Francois Truffaut -- on Dec. 6, 1977.
