Debt ceiling dust-up. President Obama is walking out on meetings and Wall Street is getting angry as Washington continues to fight over raising the debt ceiling.

JPMorgan surprise. JPMorgan Chase & Co., the first of the big banks to announce its second-quarter earnings, surprised analysts with increased revenue and profits across most of the bank’s business lines.

Cities go to the bank. As the municipal bond market struggles, many cities and states are going directly to banks for loans, raising a number of questions.
