Good news. Some promising numbers on home sales and a vote in Greece have sent stock prices up Wednesday morning.

Big mortgage settlement. Bank of America stock is up Wednesday morning after it agreed to pay investors $8.5 billion to settle charges it sold bad mortgage-backed securities.

Regulatory battle. The Treasury Department is attacking one of the main national bank regulators, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, saying it is helping shield banks from state banking regulators.
