Mother’s Day remains the biggest holiday of the year for restaurants, but dads will get wined and dined pretty well too when their day comes around this weekend.

According to the National Restaurant Assn., 50 million Americans plan to dine out on Sunday in honor of Father’s Day. That’s way less than the 75 million the organization said would go out for Mother’s Day, but the nation’s strapped restaurants are welcoming the business.

“Our survey results show that the restaurant industry continues to play a significant role in honoring fathers,” said Hudson Riehle, senior vice president of the Research and Knowledge Group for the National Restaurant Assn.

The industry organization surveyed 1,000 adults about their Father’s Day plans. About two-thirds said they would go out to dinner, while 34% said they planned to take Dad out for lunch or brunch. Most said they would go to Dad’s favorite restaurant, whether or not there was a Father’s Day discount.

Will you be taking Dad out for Father’s Day? Where will you go?
