Wall Street Roundup: Social-media frenzy. Tyra at Harvard.

Gold: Trading now at $1,365 per ounce, up 0.4% from Friday. Dow Jones industrial average: Trading now at 12,2543.77, down 0.2% from Friday.

Washington on wall - carolyn cole NYSE deal nears. The merger of the New York Stock Exchange and Deutsche Boerse could be announced as soon as Tuesday, but the name of the new operation is still a sticking point as politicians push for New York to keeps its preeminence.

Social-media frenzy. JPMorgan Chase & Co. is creating a new fund to invest in social-media companies like Facebook. My colleague Michael Hiltzik is not the only one wondering if the rabid interest in these companies has gone too far. 

Loving cricket. One of the world's most powerful investment bankers, Anshu Jain, wrote a love letter to cricket in advance of the sport's world cup.

Tyra at Harvard. Model-turned-media-magnate Tyra Banks is in Boston honing her financial chops at Harvard Business School.
