Westfield Valencia Town Center on Thursday opened its Shops at the Patios, a new outdoor section of the shopping center that includes boutiques and restaurants in “an intimate upscale setting.”

The $130-million investment brings 40 new open-air shops to the mall -- including Michael Kors, Sephora True Religion and Williams-Sonoma -- and 700 new full-time positions.

Through the rest of the year, the Shops at the Patios will host free fashion shows, style consultations, beauty makeovers, wine tastings, movie screenings, live music and children’s activities.

The Valencia Town Center is anchored by Macy’s, JCPenney and Sears.
