Wall Street Roundup: Hard times at hedge funds. LeBron's stock.

July 8, 2010 |  8:06 am

Good economic signs. The number of people filing for unemployment benefits fell more than expected last week, retail sales were up in June and the International Monetary Fund upped its forecast for global growth this year.

Hard times at hedge funds. The unpredictable markets of the last few months have sent hedge funds spinning, with even big names like John Paulson experiencing losses.

LeBron's stock. Shares in the company that owns the New York Knicks, Madison Square Garden, have run parallel with rumors about the likelihood of LeBron James ending up in New York, with the stock rising on Wednesday evening and falling on Thursday morning as it appeared that James might be leaning toward signing with the Miami Heat.
