European worries return. A few days after investors celebrated a bailout plan for troubled European nations, concerns about the continuing debt problems are coming to the fore, leading some to question whether the euro can survive.

Betting against municipalities. Government authorities are investigating the way banks used credit default swaps to bet against municipal bonds, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Goldman’s good deed. Goldman Sachs is injecting $20 million into a troubled community bank in Chicago, and Goldman’s CEO is trying to round up other banks to provide more help -- all as Goldman itself struggles with its public image problem.

Gold ATM. As the popularity and price of of gold increase, a luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi is offering its guests an ATM that dispenses gold, keyed to the most recent price of the precious metal.
