Wall Street Roundup: Goldman showdown. Another bank.

April 27, 2010 |  6:40 am

Home prices up. An index of home prices nationwide rose for the first time in three years, thanks in part to a federal tax break for home buyers that is expiring.

Goldman showdown. The eyes of everyone on Wall Street will be on the Senate hearings in which Goldman Sachs executives will be grilled by senators, who have, most recently, accused the firm of being behind the broader problems in the mortgage market.

Fab's denial. Fabrice Tourre, the only individual charged in the government's lawsuit against Goldman, is expected in the hearing to completely deny the government's charges against him.

Another bank. Deutsche Bank revealed in its regulatory submissions that it is facing a lawsuit from investors who are unhappy with the way the German bank structured complex mortgage-based financial products -- similar to the charges that Goldman is facing.
