The Los Angeles-area houses that were the five most-searched listings on Realtor.com the last week in January (among those priced within 20% of the median list price of $449,000) represented a pretty wide geographic spread.

Here are the Top 5 in the order they ranked:

1. 1122 Glen Arbor Ave., Los Angeles 90041
Price: $475,000
Size: Two bedrooms and one bathroom in 784 square feet

2. 1836 Peterson Ave., South Pasadena 91030
Price: $529,900
Details: Three bedrooms and two bathrooms in 2,216 square feet

3. 4309 Willow Glen St., Calabasas 91302
Price: $400,000
Size: Three bedrooms and three bathrooms in 1,594 square feet

4. 2521 Fidelidad Drive, Hacienda Heights 91745
Price: $459,900
Size: Four bedrooms and 3.75 bathrooms in 2,714 square feet

5. 4339 West 177th St., Torrance 90504
Price: $499,000
Size: Three bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,472 square feet

This offers a snapshot of what you can buy in different locations for the money. But it makes me wonder how in touch list prices are with sales prices. For comparison’s sake, here are the 2009 median sales prices from MDA DataQuick for homes in each of the five ZIP Codes, along with the price per square foot.
