Los Angeles is one of the hardest places to find a job, according to a report released Wednesday.
The February Job Search Difficulty Index, released by job search engine JuJu.com ranked the city 44th out of 50 major U.S. cities.
The index divides the number of unemployed workers in each metro area as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics by the number of jobs listed on JuJu. In Los Angeles, there were 10.1 unemployed people to every advertised job.
Sacramento, Riverside, Las Vegas, Miami and St. Louis followed as the worst locations to land a position. Detroit hung onto its rank as the toughest environment for job hunters, with 18.01 applicants per post.
The five best places to scout for openings remained the same: Washington, D.C., at the top of the list, with just 1.89 unemployed people to each advertised job, followed by New York, Salt Lake City, Baltimore and San Jose.
