Two congressional panels will grill top Toyota executives this week as the House of Representatives begins its probe of safety issues that spurred the recall of about 10 million vehicles worldwide for problems with gas pedals and brakes.

Beginning at 8am, D.C. Now will begin its special coverage of the hearings, illuminating the crisis facing the world’s largest automaker. Investigative writers Ken Bensinger and Ralph Vartabedian will report from the hearings. Their in-depth work will be supplemented by staff writers and editors working in Los Angeles and Washington, who will live-blog the hearings here on D.C. Now.
